Welcome!

Good afternoon all,

I just wanted to address everyone with a welcoming post before I started posting recipes and articles. This is a little more personable and that's what I'm all about. With that said, let's get started.

Why the name?

The Culinary Caveman represents my mission in cooking. 'Culinary' for the fact that I love to play with flavors and create classic dishes as well as unique foods with a creative twist. And 'Caveman' represents the ingredients I will use. Though I'll make some naughty foods from time to time, I will only be posting recipes with 'caveman' ingredients. This means all dishes will be as close to primal as possible. Foods our ancestors ate, and foods the human body responds best to. This means no preservatives, no refined sugars, no flours and minimal grains. I will also strive to be as low carb as possible. Less carbs = Less calories. Thats always a plus.

With all this put together, the foods i post will be diabetic firendly, and will cause minimal blood sugar spikes - preventing that carb coma usually associated with high carb foods such as pasta (more informational articles to follow in order to help you understand.)

Overall, my goal is to show the beauty of healthy, natural eating and to break down the stigma that rabbit food is all you can eat in order to lose weight, and stay healthy. Along with encouraging you on your journey, I will be showing my journey in fitness and health and how these eating habits have helped/are helping me!
